Common site on the island with an abundance of wild roses and rain. If you look closely you can usually see a reflection in the raindrop on the hips.

Rocky is hunched; Rocky looks like a thug but he is just a heron hanging out having a break on a rock near the forest trail by the beach at Helliwell.

Inspired while sitting on the deck of the Thatch Pub, Hornby Island at the end of the summer! The sky looked like it was on fire!

This painting was a 2nd version from another painting I did outside while admiring fuchsias in a hanging basket that swayed in the breeze. It is quite unique and I really like the colours and the feeling of the flowers swaying in the breeze!

Unfortunately, Art Shows on the Island have been few and far between since about 2020 when COVID arrived in the world and our small Island Gallery in the woods was demolished to make way for our new Art Centre.

Things are looking up now and we are hoping that there will be many more shows in the beautiful new Art Centre in the immediate future.

NEW HORNBY ISLAND ART CENTRE

News Update: The new Hornby Island Art Centre building opened in the Spring of 2025 and is located on Hornby Island just off Sollans Road.

Bent Tree Studio officially opened Aug. 2014!

Hours: Open by appointment. If I am in my Studio, I sometimes have my "Open sign" out by the Studio or you can call for an appointment. I am usually around the yard or not far away. Phone: 250-897-6286
